Michael Burychka
Founder & CEO, Longview Innovation
Born and raised in the Philadelphia area, Michael is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Longview Innovation, a locally based early-stage investment firm. Under his leadership, the firm established partnerships with some of the most prestigious universities and Department of Energy labs in the United States. From these relationships, the firm played a critical role in developing many groundbreaking technologies by providing seed funding and backing founders with business-building expertise on their path to commercialization. Longview played a pivotal role in several local success stories, including CarismaTherapeutics, MOBILion Systems, and Exyn Technologies.
With extensive experience in early-stage investing and international capital markets, Michael has a distinguished track record of building and managing global organizations. Over his 20+ year career in senior investment banking and private equity roles, he has headed private capital markets teams at Lehman Brothers and Barclays Capital in London. He founded an emerging market technology investment company that led investments in university intellectual property across central and eastern Europe and Asia. Before founding Longview, he served as CFO of The Climate Group, an international network of business and government leaders dedicated to advancing policies, technologies, and capital investment in sustainable economic development.
Throughout all these experiences, Michael has maintained a deep passion for the Philadelphia region and its potential to grow and lead the innovation economy. Establishing Longview fulfills a long-held ambition and commitment to actively support the potential of our region.
Michael holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Accounting from Bucknell University and an M.B.A. from the London Business School and studied at the China Europe International Business School in Shanghai, PRC.
