Operated at the University of Pennsylvania’s Moore School of Electrical Engineering, ENIAC was hailed by The New York Times as “an amazing machine which applies electronic speeds for the first time to mathematical tasks hitherto too difficult and cumbersome for solution”.
In 2025 the City of Philadelphia will recognize the 250th anniversary of the founding of the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps while preparing for the 80th anniversary of ENIAC. As the world’s first programmable, electric, General-purpose digital computer financed by the United States Army, ENIAC is an example of what’s possible when education, industry, and government work together to achieve excellence.
Join us as we bring together members of the teaching community, industry, and education focused entrepreneurs to share ways to provide equitable access to computer science education.
