JANUARY: Shovel Ready
We kicked off 2017 celebrating the groundbreaking of the first new building in uCity Square, 3675 Market Street. Set to open in summer 2018, 3675 Market Street will be home the Science Center’s corporate headquarters, an expanded Quorum and FirstHand Lab. Joining the Science Center in 3675 will be Boston-based anchor tenant CIC.
JANUARY: 40 Years of Art & Science
The Esther Klein Gallery (EKG) celebrated 40 years with a special exhibit. Art at the Science Center: A 40-Year Retrospective paid homage to the gallery’s 40th anniversary, and featured works by R. Buckminster Fuller, Aleksandra Kasuba, James Dupree and more.
JULY: It’s RAINing Innovation!
Roughly 150 members of the entrepreneurial community gathered at the Annual RAIN Conference in July. We explored how innovation communities are promoting entrepreneurship while engaging with a diverse and inclusive population. After the formal program, attendees gathered for a happy hour at uCity Square’s PHS Pop Up Beer Garden.
AUGUST: Where Did You Watch the Eclipse?
The uCity Square community gathered at Innovation Plaza for “The great American Eclipse” in August.
