Regional Affinity Incubation Network (RAIN)

Connecting the Entrepreneurial Support Community  



The Regional Affinity Incubation Network – or RAIN – convenes the community that supports Greater Philadelphia's innovators and entrepreneurs. From coworking spaces to accelerators, incubators to startup funds and economic development agencies, the RAIN network helps grow and support the region’s innovation ecosystem. With input from a regional planning committee, the Science Center hosts the annual RAIN Conference each July in Quorum.



  • was launched as an annual event in 2009
  • is a network of 70+ organizations that support the innovation economy in the tristate region
  • has attracted over 1,100+ leaders in the entrepreneurial and innovation community
  • has explored diversity and inclusion, the connection between the entrepreneurial community and large enterprise,  Greater Philadelphia’s future as  a next-generation innovation hub, and strategies to connect startups to capital and collaborators.

Fueling the Talent Pipeline: Preparing for the 21st Century Economy


You can’t have a thriving tech community without talent. The 2018 RAIN Conference will explore the topic of talent through the prisms of the talent pipeline, talent attraction, retention and training. The conference will look at existing programs that are helping to fill the talent pipeline – and expand opportunity to underserved communities. The 2018 RAIN Conference will build off the momentum of the 2017 program which focused on building an inclusive entrepreneurial community.
