Regional Affinity Incubation Network (RAIN)

Connecting the Entrepreneurial Support Community

The Regional Affinity Incubation Network – or RAIN – convenes the community that supports Greater Philadelphia's innovators and entrepreneurs. From coworking spaces to accelerators and incubators, the RAIN network members help grow the region’s innovation ecosystem. The Science Center hosts an annual RAIN Conference each July in Quorum.

RAIN…

  • was launched as an annual event in 2009
  • is a network of 70+ organizations that support the innovation economy in the tristate region
  • has attracted over 650+ leaders in the entrepreneurial and innovation community
  • has featured topics such as the connection between the entrepreneurial community and large enterprise, how Greater Philadelphia can become a next-generation innovation hub, and strategies to help startups connect to capital and collaborators.

Size Matters: How Large Enterprises Are Leveraging the Startup Community

Presented by EisnerAmper

They may have different company cultures and work towards different bottom lines, but regardless of size, all companies seek opportunity. Early-stage companies can get a boost from partnerships with    established companies that have connections, resources and brand recognition. Established companies want innovative ideas from nimble companies that can act quickly and de-risk their big-business model.

The 2016 RAIN conference will take a deep dive into how large enterprises in the region can leverage the innovation community as a resource for growth and competitiveness. The conference will also highlight startups that have built relationships with large companies as we continue the conversation about connecting large corporations to the startup community that we started at the 2015 RAIN conference.
