Adam Glasofer, MD, MSHI
Dr. Adam Glasofer is the Founder and Managing Director of Vertex Health, where he helps companies succeed in building, deploying, and scaling healthcare technology. With over 20 years of experience as a physician and healthcare IT executive, Adam brings deep passion and expertise in integrating technology into clinical and care delivery workflows, leading complex technology implementations, evaluating and deploying emerging technologies, and scaling startup businesses. He is a highly effective presenter and consensus builder, with extensive experience in leading large-scale change across organizations, ranging from early-stage startup to big tech enterprise.
At Vertex Health, Adam manages a wide-ranging client portfolio that spans large enterprises, government agencies, non-profits, and startups. In these engagements, he takes on varied roles, from leading the development of large-scale innovation programs that drive lasting impact, to serving in fractional C-suite roles, and providing strategic advisory services. He currently serves as a Senior Advisor to ARPA-H where he leads the build, planning, and execution of the ARPA-H Launchpad program, a government accelerator program that will deploy over $70+M in non-dilutive funding. Adam also serves as a Strategic Advisor to American Cancer Society BrightEdge, the innovation and impact investing arm of the American Cancer Society, where he led the build and design of Project HEALTH – an accelerator program advancing companies working to reduce disparities in cancer care. Other current Vertex Health clients include CGI Federal, Deerfield Intelligence, Oura, WellLink, and multiple high-potential healthtech startups.
Prior to founding Vertex Health, Adam served as the Global Head of Healthcare for Venture Capital and Startups at Amazon Web Services (AWS). There, he led a global team of healthtech subject matter experts focused on driving the adoption of startup solutions among healthcare customers worldwide. Adam founded and launched the AWS Healthcare Accelerator, which expanded into multiple global cohorts. These efforts were featured in leading media outlets including Forbes, Bloomberg News, and the Financial Times, and drove tangible results for both AWS and the associated AWS Healthcare Accelerator startups – helping participating startups collectively raise over $500M in funding and achieve seven acquisitions.
Before his time at Amazon, Adam served as Chief Innovation Officer and Associate Chief Medical Information Officer at Virtua Health. There, he founded both Virtua’s telehealth program and Center for Innovation, working closely with clinical leadership, operational leadership, and government agencies to transform care delivery through the seamless integration of technology. His work at Virtua ranged from leading enterprise EHR and voice technology implementations to piloting emerging technologies and shaping healthcare technology legislation. A pediatric hospitalist by training, Adam practiced clinical medicine for 15 years at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia at Virtua, primarily in the pediatric emergency department.
Adam continues to leverage his clinical, operational, and technical expertise to advance healthcare innovation. He is board-certified in both Pediatrics and Clinical Informatics and holds a Master of Science degree in Health Informatics. He has presented globally on topics such as telemedicine and innovation in healthcare and serves as an advisor to many healthcare startups. Adam currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Science Center, International Investment Board of ANDHealth Australia, and the MedTech Board of the Bucknell University Perricelli-Gegnas Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. His unique combination of clinical, technical, and business experience drives his work today, helping organizations deliver meaningful, scalable change to improve healthcare for all stakeholders.
