PHILADELPHIA--(January 13, 2014) – Many great products or ideas never make it to the marketplace because of faulty communications strategies. On January 16, the University City Science Center will explore the dos and don’ts of pitch and communications strategies for startups in the cleantech and energy efficiency sectors during a Satellite Quorum Smart Talk: Energy Matters program at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.
An expansion of the Science Center’s successful Quorum program, Satellite Quorum is offering programming in partnership with the Energy Efficient Buildings (EEB) Hub that plugs entrepreneurs into the cleantech and advanced energy retrofit industries and connects them with the people and resources necessary to grow their startups.
Laurie Actman, Deputy Director at the EEB Hub will moderate a panel of diverse professionals who will share their expertise in developing effective strategies that can capture – and keep the attention of funders, customers and the press. Panelists include Cassandra Bailey, Principal Slice Communications; Alvin Lavoie, Recruitment Lead, CleanTech Open, Philadelphia Hub; Ellen Lutz, President & CEO, Clean Markets; and Ellen Weber, Executive Director, Robin Hood Ventures.
