With Joe Biden becoming the president-elect on Saturday, we reached out to Philadelphia-area business leaders for their thoughts on a pressing question: What should be the top business priority for the Biden/Harris administration?
Our President and CEO, Tiffany Wilson and Chairman of the Science Center Board, Mike DiPiano weigh in.
"The STEM innovation that fuels our regional economy is resilient but not pandemic-proof. I encourage the Biden/Harris administration to prioritize innovation as an engine for inclusive growth and recovery. Supporting STEM businesses and expanding STEM education and career opportunities will enable broader participation in our long-term economic success."
Our stance on the administrations polices for the economy surround Covid-19. The administration should create a national response to the Covid-19 pandemic based on science that would bring to bear the full capabilities of the public and private sectors in terms of testing, mask compliance and standards, PPE, therapeutics and vaccines. Controlling Covid-19 will have the biggest impact on the U.S. economy over the next 12-24 months.
