PHILADELPHIA – (July 24, 2023) – The Science Center, Philadelphia’s premiere catalyst of entrepreneurial activity, healthcare innovation, and economic growth has elected three new Board members following its Annual Meeting of Shareholders on June 20th:
- Chellie Cameron, President & Chief Executive Officer of The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia
- Adam Glasofer, MD, MSHI, Global Head of Healthcare - Public Sector VC & Startups at Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Michael A. Nutter, Former Mayor of Philadelphia
“Ms. Cameron, Dr. Glasofer, and Mayor Nutter bring a wealth of experience to the Science Center and their addition to our Board is a tremendous opportunity to strengthen the organization’s impact across Greater Philadelphia and beyond,” says Science Center President & CEO Tiffany Wilson. “We are thrilled to welcome these three individuals to our board and eager to working together to advance our mission of powering progress that advances healthcare innovation, uplifts communities, and improves lives.”
Ms. Cameron joined the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia as president and chief executive officer in July 2022. Previously, she served as CEO for the City of Philadelphia’s Division of Aviation, including both Philadelphia International Airport and the Northeast Philadelphia Airport. As CEO of the airports, she was the City’s chief aviation representative in local, state, national, and international affairs.
As Global Head of Healthcare - Public Sector VC & Startups at AWS, Dr. Glasofer leads a team focused on fostering startup communities and driving the adoption of startups with healthcare customers around the world. Within the first year of development, Adam’s team created and delivered the AWS Healthcare Accelerator which has launched several cohorts globally.
Mayor Nutter is a former two-term mayor of Philadelphia who previously spent nearly 15 years in the Philadelphia City Council. Since leaving public office in 2016, he has remained active in public policy, government, and civic life. He is the inaugural David N. Dinkins Professor of Professional Practice in Urban and Public Affairs at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and holds fellowships at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Chicago, and Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics.
