A company from DreamIt Ventures’ first accelerator program has landed $15 million in venture funding, according to TechCrunch.
I wrote about SCVNGR Inc. last summer when its technology was used to launch Find Your Philly, a contest that enabled mobile-phone users to earn points and win prizes by taking tours of Philadelphia called treks and performing tasks called challenges as they visited places on the treks.
The company’s name is pronounced like the word “scavenger” because its treks resemble scavenger hunts.
Although it went through DreamIt’s program, it’s based in Cambridge, Mass.
