Dr. Drew Weissman is a Professor of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a physician-scientist best known for his work with RNA biology that laid the groundwork for the mRNA vaccines for COVID-19 developed by BioNTech/Pfizer and Moderna. Dr. Weissman's laboratory studies focus on RNA and innate immune system biology to support vaccine research and gene therapy.
