Lunch for Hungry Minds: Uncovering a Genetic Link to Childhood Ear Infections

For the first time, researchers including collaborators from CHOP have found a gene region associated with increased risk for middle ear infections. Hakon Hakonarson, MD, PhD, director of the Center for Applied Genomics at CHOP led the study, and he will discuss their findings based on the expression of the gene FNDC1 in the middle ear.
