BioSP Presents: "Hidden" Sources of Funding

Friday, Jul 21, 2017 | 4:00 PM-5:30 PM

Join us on July 21 for a discussion about “hidden” resources available to researchers and early stage startups. Are you aware that the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as well as some county and local governments, may have tax credit and funding programs available to you? Or that Philadelphia is home to a research consortium that allows for local, national and international startup and biotech partners to leverage the collective research strengths of Philadelphia’s life sciences community? Foundations, too, often provide support for disease-specific or health-related research or technology development.

This panel will include representatives from two nationally known grants-making foundations who will describe their organization’s goals, processes and funding criteria. In addition, the President and Founder of MVM Associates, Inc., a firm that advises clients about securing grants and tax credits, will be there to share his expertise, as will a representative of Wistar, a founding member of Philadelphia Research Consortium.

Plan to be there in person or connect remotely to learn about some lesser known opportunities – one of them just might be right for you!

Panelists:

Michael McCann, MVM Associates

Michael Batten, JDRF

Andrew L. Smith, Susan G. Komen Foundation

Heather Steinman, The Wistar Institute

Moderator:

Sheri Collins, PA Department of Community and Economic Development
