New Year, New FirstHand Video

“When I put on a lab coat, I feel like a scientist. I feel like I’m learning things that will help shape my future. I feel like I’m making a difference.”

That’s just one of the voices from our new FirstHand video. The students in the video share what it’s like to participate in a FirstHand program, the feeling they get when they put on a lab coat, and what it’s like to work alongside professionals making a career out of science.

The video was produced by our partners at Cohere with an assist from FirstHand’s very own Program Facilitator, Adam Durant, who produced and recorded the music!

FirstHand is preparing the next generation of scientists, designers, engineers and artists through hands-on projects for the real world. From creating polymers to experimenting with molecular gastronomy, FirstHand programs explore STEAM disciplines from a new perspective. Students are immersed into the ecosystem at the Science Center. They tour the labs and facilities of uCity Square-based companies, and even get to work with real-life professionals who serve as mentors throughout the program.

There’s nothing more impactful for a student than hands-on experience.

Check out the video below to see how FirstHand is opening doors for the minds of tomorrow.
