More than 150+ industry professionals and serial entrepreneurs serve as Business Advisors to our technology commercialization programs. They work with academic researchers and technology transfer offices to create viable business plans and contribute valuable expertise to the commercialization process.
Inspire the next generation of STEM professionals by serving as a mentor to our FirstHand students. FirstHand works with middle and high school students from under-represented communities in Philadelphia, introducing them to STEM subjects and careers. The hands-on, project-based learning takes place in our dedicated FirstHand Lab. Mentors can engage with students in your space our ours. Mentor sessions run less than one hour, up to eight times per year. Classes are typically made up of 16 students. Our mentors are scientists, designers, entrepreneurs, and engineers, but we welcome mentors with all types of backgrounds and skill sets.
We’re always looking for an extra hand at our weekly Venture Café nights. Venture Café relies on the generosity of volunteers who enjoy giving back to the community and who share our commitment to entrepreneurship and innovation. The goal of our Volunteer Program is to train and employ a team of enthusiasts who help execute programming that strengthens the Greater Philadelphia innovation ecosystem. Volunteers assist in a variety of areas including event operations, marketing and social media.
With weekly Venture Café nights and a steady stream of Quorum programming, we’re always looking for subject matter experts across sectors and vocations. Our programs regularly feature entrepreneurs, innovators, researchers, investors, business leaders, accountants, lawyers, marketing and PR experts, and more.
