University City Science Center Named Visionary Award Winner by the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce

PHILADELPHIA – August 4, 2015 – The University City Science Center today announced it has received the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce’s 2016 Visionary Award.

The Visionary Award is given to an organization headquartered in Greater Philadelphia that has earned national and/or international recognition for its product or service, and has contributed to the growth and success of the small business community.

“We are delighted to be honored with the Chamber’s Visionary Award,” says Science Center President & CEO Stephen S. Tang, Ph.D., MBA. “We’ve spent more than 50 years supporting entrepreneurs and innovators as they developed countless technologies, launched more than 350 companies, and created more than 15,000 jobs in the Greater Philadelphia region. We look forward to helping upcoming generations of innovators as they invent the future.”

Tang will formally accept the award, along with 10 other award category recipients, during the Chamber’s 33rd Annual Excellence Awards celebration on November 5, 2015, from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. at The Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia.
