This event brings together undergraduate students from the Institute for Translational Medicine and Therapeutics (ITMAT) Translational Research Immersion Program (TRIP) at the University of Pennsylvania who are learning the intricacies of translational science with Venture Café attendees to create a dynamic and interactive platform for practicing effective communication of complex research to a broad audience.
Inspired by the concept of speed dating, this event encourages young researchers pursuing a career in science and medicine to deliver concise and engaging elevator pitches about their current translational research projects. Angela McQuillan, the ITMAT Artist in Residence, will facilitate the event. The event is not only an opportunity for the students to practice their communication skills but also a chance for attendees to gain insight into the world of translational research and witness the passion anddedication of the emerging generation of medical researchers. It promotes dialogue and bridges the gap between academia and the broader community, fostering a mutual understanding of the challenges and potentials of translational research.
