Black Bottom Celebration

Please join us for a celebration of the Black Bottom Community.

• Live jazz music featuring acclaimed vocalist Denise King and her jazz quartet outside of 3675 Market
• Councilmember Jamie Gauthier will present a Resolution recognizing “Black Bottom” as the first and official name of the West Philadelphia neighborhood, as well as the street renaming of 3600 Market to Dr. Walter Palmer Way. 
• Refreshments to follow in the Quorum Lounge.

A Community mixer hosted by Two Locals Brewing Company, will begin at 3:00 p.m. The brewery, located at 3675 Market Street, will provide an opportunity to honor Professor Palmer’s lifelong connection to the Black Bottom community, recognize his decades-long efforts to seek justice for those displaced by the University of Pennsylvania’s expansion, and celebrate his 75 years of social activism in Philadelphia and beyond. All are welcome.
