
Wendy Nickel
Wendy Nickel joined the Science Center in December 2024 as Chief Program Officer. She has spent the majority of her career building programs to promote high quality healthcare for all.
Over the past two decades, she has held various leadership positions in health systems and national physician specialty and patient advocacy organizations. Wendy has significant experience in federal health policy, systems design to improve patient outcomes, and developing programs to improve public health. Most recently, Wendy served as president of the Health Care Improvement Foundation, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit organization whose mission was to improve health equity, quality of care, and access to care through stakeholder collaboration and shared learning in partnership with patients, healthcare professionals, payors, employers and other constituents.
As Chief Program Officer, Wendy is responsible for developing and supporting best-in-class programming to support med tech and life science entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders. These programs range from offering STEM education and career exposure to budding entrepreneurs to supporting companies in gaining traction in a complicated healthcare ecosystem. A strong belief of Wendy's is that programs should be designed in partnership with the constituents they serve to ensure alignment with needs, values, and expected outcomes of success.
