Steven Hess
Data Analytics Manager, PECO
Steve Hess is the Energy Efficiency Portfolio Data Analytics Manager for PECO, an electric & gas utility serving the greater Philadelphia area. His responsibilities include leading, planning, and managing PECO’s analytics roadmap to implement new strategies, projects, and data solutions across the organization. In this capacity, Steve has collaborated with PECO’s community partners to develop data analysis training programs for high school students in the Philadelphia region.
Currently, He is spearheading the launch of the Data Analytics Career Pathway Apprenticeship pilot that will give the next generation of data professionals access to foundational programs in data analytics, design thinking and project management, as well as introduce them to data analytics as a career, which is in demand for critical industries supporting our region. Steve has been with PECO and its parent company, Exelon, for over twenty-three years, previously holding leadership positions in Innovation, Customer Operations and IT. Prior to joining PECO, he served as owner/founder of an independent technology integration consulting firm. Steve earned a Bachelor of Science in Imaging from the Rochester Institute of Technology and obtained Master of Science in Management of Information Systems from Pennsylvania State University. He holds an Innovation Mentor certification from the University of Notre Dame. He is also certified as a Six Sigma Greenbelt, a Project Management Professional (PMP) and in ITIL foundations.
