Alliance of Women Entrepreneurs Pitch Session

The Pitch

AWE’s Emerging Entrepreneur Pitch Program is distinct from other accelerator and incubator programs primarily because of its concentrated focus on preparing women founders to give an excellent pitch.

We focus on the Plan, the Pitch, and the Presentation, engaging skilled members of the AWE network to participate in sessions intended to provide targeted and specific feedback to each participating company. There will also be at least one “Meet the Funders” session in conjunction with AWE Ventures.

AWE will have one successful woman founder involved in each of these sessions to provide an extremely valuable perspective as one who has already given numerous pitches and scaled at least one company.

Who is Our Ideal Candidate?

• The applicant should be a female founder with a functioning business that she intends to scale, ideally into a high-growth company. The venture is likely in the early stages of launching a product or service into a scalable enterprise.
  
• The start-up venture must be supported by a business model and an identified target market. In addition, it must have some early sales revenue or proven interest by potential customers or partners in the target market.
  
• The applicant must be the Founder (or Co-founder) and CEO of the start-up venture.
  
• The company must be based in the Greater Philadelphia Region.

Sessions will begin in September and extend through mid-October to help participants prepare for the pitch. Ten finalists will be selected to participate in the final pitch competition, which will take place on November 14, 2016. The winner will receive a package of benefits and a cash prize.

Session Information

We are thrilled to offer three sessions for founders to get important feedback on their pitch. All program applicants who meet the criteria for participation are welcome to attend these sessions. Host Benjamin's Desk will be the venue for all three at their 601 Walnut Street location. Please note the details for your calendar!

Session 1: The Plan on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 6:00 pm
Session 2: The Pitch on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 6:00 pm
Session 3: The Presentation on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 6:00 pm

During the program, participants have access to the AWE network, but only the ten finalists will receive an AWE membership. The finalists are also invited to the AWE Gala free of charge.
