Jim and has over three decades of experience managing increasingly complex, technical facilities. His experience includes semiconductor manufacturing facilities, health care facilities, research and development laboratories, pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and high containment vivaria.
Aside from managing facilities operations, Jim applies his knowledge and hands-on experience with the commissioning and turnover of these buildings to the design, engineering, and construction delivery process and is especially experienced in bridging the gap between construction in progress and operational transitions. Jim is a certified facility manager (CFM) and a member of IFMA. He has also been certified as a commissioning engineer and is a member of ASHRAE, ISPE, ASME, and the NFPA. Jim is a frequent presenter and has given presentations at BioFlorida, Tradeline, IFMA, Lab Animal Managers Association, and the Design Build Institute of America.
Before joining the Science Center, Jim recently worked in the Philadelphia area for Quotient Sciences, a clinical trial manufacturer based in Nottingham, England. He was also employed in Jupiter, Florida for the prestigious Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience based in Munich, Germany.
