Lunch for Hungry Minds with Yubin ge

June 14, 2018

This month's Lunch For Hungry Minds will feature discussion with Yubin Ge, Associate Professor of Oncology at Wayne State University. Join him as he expands on his research on the basic biology and development of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in children and adults, to combinational therapies and translational studies with primary patient specimens.

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has proven to be a challenging disease to treat as a majority of patients relapse after standard chemotherapy. Leukemia stem cells (LSCs) that survive chemotherapy treatment are believed to be the source of AML relapse in many patients. ONC201 is a small molecule currently in Phase II advanced cancer clinical trials and is the founding member of the imipridone family of anticancer agents. In this study, we investigated the anti-LSC efficacy and mechanism of action of a novel ONC201 analog, ONC213, in preclinical AML models.
